Within the scope of army-society relations, the Head of the RA AF Operational Department, Major General Artak Davtyan and the Lieutenant Colonel Samvel Asatryan visited the University.
The guests were welcomed by the ASPU Vice-Rector Mher Melick –Bakhshyan who assured that the students highly emphasized the relation with the army enhancing it with various events and initiatives that would also continue in the following years.
In addition, the representatives of the military forces spoke about the potential of the Armenian armed forces, their willingness, problems, achievements not enveloping the loss that the army suffered from in the previous year.
“The loss of every single Armenian soldier is a tragedy for us, which does is not even relieved by the five times more casualties of the enemy”, mentioned the Major General Artak Davtyan, assuring that in any situation our soldiers will be able to quickly orientate, master the techniques of the new military equipment and effectively use it.
Likewise, the latter spoke about the activities aimed at developing the soldiers’ literacy and arranging other issues, reassuring that the military situation of our homeland is conditioned with our country’s development.
In reply to the question from the President of the Student Council Nersik Margaryan on what the solders need and how the students can support them, the Major General answered that any of the students activities, cultural events are expected and desired by soldiers.
The students discussed with the military representatives the questions which interested them at the same time expressing willingness to be with the Armenian soldiers being a part of them.
