As a result of cooperation between the Student Scientific Society (SSS) and Student Council of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), 20 students from different faculties participated in an inter-university conference entitled “Trends in State Strengthening and Youth Issues.” The conference was held in the Ijevan branch of Yerevan State University.
Students of the Faculties of Primary Education, Art Education, History and Law, Education Psychology and Sociology made reports focusing on problems faced by the modern youth.
In their reports, future teachers dwelt on the problems encountered in the primary education system, underlined the role and significance of history and presented modern approaches in psychology in the context of education.
“The objective of the conference was to discuss the problems faced by the youth, their proposals and viewpoints in the strengthening of state,” said Samvel Arakelyan, Candidate of Sciences (in History) who heads the YSU Ijevan Branch. He emphasized the importance of organizing such a conference in a border region.
Talking to old.aspu.am, Misha Tadevosyan, a student of the ASPU Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology and SSS Vice-Chairman, said the conference was a new starting point for the students of the two universities, which is expected to strengthen further cooperation. “An atmosphere was created for the students to be able to exchange their opinions, find like-minded friends, combine ideas and give solutions to the problems of the education sector,” he said.
The participating students – Armine Khroyan, Misha Tadevosyan, Anahit Hovakimyan, Susanna Mnatsakanyan, Veronika Torosyan and Gayane Margaryan received special thanks and appreciation letters for their reports of scientific significance.
The conference papers will be published in a separate collection.
