A two-day international student conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was held from 4 to 7 October at the initiative of the Student Scientific Society of the Artsakh State University (ArSU).
The conference was attended by ASPU students Misha Tadevosyan (Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology), Anahit Hovakimyan (Faculty of Primary Education) and Geghama Khudaverdyan (Faculty of History and Law).
Before the start of the conference, the participating delegations and guests at the head of the ArSU administration paid tribute to the fallen student soldiers, laying flowers at a monument.
The conference had brought together representatives of almost all HEIs of Armenia and Artsakh. The participants were welcomed by Speaker of the NKR National Assembly Ashot Ghulyan, NKR Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sport Armen Sargsyan and ArSU Rector Manush Minasyan.
The plenary session was followed by speeches made by ASPU students.
In their reports, the students referred to the issues of inclusive education in mainstream schools in Armenia, phase solutions for some pedagogical situations and presented interesting facts from the biographies of historical figures.
This was followed by a study visit to Stepanakert.
On the second day of the conference, the students met with the professional staff of N6 Inclusive School after Hovhannes Tumanyan and were introduced to the process of implementation of inclusive education in the school.
At the end of the conference, all participants received certificates. The authors of the best works, including Misha Tadevosyan, a fourth-year student of the ASPU Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, also received the symbolic book “The Folklore of Artsakh.”
After the closing ceremony of the conference, the participants were taken to the state historical and cultural reserve of Tigranakert.
