From 15-18 September the International Youth Conference headed “Achievements of NKR (Artsakh) 25-year-old Statehood and Current Challenges” kicked off in Stepanakert, the capital city of Artsakh.
This initiative dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Artsakh was organized by the union of Young Scientists and Professionals of Artsakh; among the guest were scientists from Artsakh, Armenia, Russia, Germany, Poland and other countries.
In addition, among those participating in the conference were the MA students of the ASPU after Khachatur Abovyan, Faculty of History and Law Ani Khachatryan, Marinei Bezhanyan, Mariam Tsatryan and the 4th year BA student Veronika Torosyan.
Likewise, the NK President Bako Sahakyan was also present at the opening ceremony of the conference where he highlighted the importance of the event observing that it would be a good opportunity to foster a deeper study of the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
Following the plenary session further activities developed in the areas of Law, Politology, History, Economy and Psychology.
Later on, the participants of the session also attended the ArtsakhEthnoFest the “Taste of the Country” international festival organized in Shushi, after which they went to St. Hovhannes Mkrtich Church in the Gandzasar.
On 17 September, after summarizing the results of the conference and upon awarding certificates, the conference participants were present at the third Artsakh Wine Festival (renowned edifice of village Togh, Hadrut region). And on the following day the guest visited St. Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Church and the museum in Shushi.
“The International Youth Conference was a great opportunity to participate in the unprecedented event in the independent history of Artsakh with its size and involvement of scientists. It helped us to get comprehensive information about questions that interested us, not to stay apart from the cultural life of the world of Artsakh”, Ani Khachatryan mentioned din her interview to the old.aspu.am adding that it was another great chance to prove to the World the freedom an independence of Artsakh, its Armenian life and creations.
