The annual Awards for Best Students and Pupils in Information Technology Sector is over, and students of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) also received awards in the competition for best students, PhD students and pupils of universities.
Bachelor’s student Grigor Sarukhanyan, who is studying Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, received the 2nd Prize in the Best Bachelor’s Student category, while student of the Faculty Varditer Avetisyan won 2nd Prize in the Best Master’s Student category.
During a conversation with old.aspu.am, the students of the ASPU attached importance to the initiative of Synopsys Armenia which is also targeted at the development of the IT sector.
Grigor Sarukhanyan stated that besides testing professional knowledge, the commission also assessed the participants’ desire to be involved in teaching, their world views, national ideology and mindsets.
ASPU Master’s student Varditer Avetisyan, who has returned to the education sector after a 10-year hiatus and is studying and teaching at a school, added that what was important during the competition was the analytical thinking of the participants and how they can contribute to the development and advancement of the homeland through their work.
Avetisyan added that the main questions concerned the core content of textbooks and that it was her exhaustive answers to those questions that helped her win an award.
