“Haykyan” awards ceremony established by the Youth Foundation of Armenia (YFA) was held at the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan.
The Student Council of Armenian State Pedagogical University received a “Haykyan” award for its Summer School project in the category “Best International Youth Program.”
This year, the annual award-giving ceremony was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces. It was attended by President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
Awards were handed out in the following categories: Best Student Self-Government Body, Best Chairman of Student Self-Government Body, Best Student Self-Government Body in Marzes, Best Youth NGO in Yerevan, Best Youth NGO in Marzes, Unique Youth Project, Best International Youth Program, Best Youth Program, Best Military and Patriotic Project and Best Youth Scientific Achievement.
The traditional event is aimed at revealing and appreciating the best initiatives in the youth field, individuals and institutions that have had significant contribution to the sphere.
The Summer School project implemented jointly by the ASPU Student Council and YFA has been held for the fourth time this year.
Over 200 students from the University of Oulu (Finland), Pázmány Péter Catholic University (Hungary), Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, Saint Petersburg University of Economics, Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, Moscow City Psychological-Pedagogical University, Moscow State Pedagogical University and Armenian State Pedagogical University were involved in the program in 2016.
