Today Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University Srbuhi Gevorgyan and President of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia Harutyun Khachatryan concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation at the National Cinema Center.
The parties will combine their efforts and share their experiences, attaching importance to the role of quality education in further development of cinematography and to the compliance of professional knowledge and skills with modern culture of cinema.
Within the scope of cooperation, the Union will support the development of professional and practical skills of students of the ASPU; the organizing of film screenings and discussions for studies, their coursework and diploma theses, as well as their participation in the creation of films being produced in Armenia and in the film-making projects of the Union.
In addition, the Memorandum envisages ensuring the consultative and practical participation of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia in the production of films for students' diploma theses and collaborating to implement instructional and educational programs of mutual interest.
According to the Memorandum, members of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia will be involved in the conferences and master classes hosted by the ASPU, there will be exchange of information, knowledge, experience and skills, etc.
President of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia Harutyun Khachatryan regrets to note that most young people today avoid getting educated and watching movies, adding that the Memorandum will help create big opportunities for them to meet with great artists, participate in discussions and make their own films.
ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan is also certain that the Memorandum will contribute to effective cooperation and that the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia will become a major platform for communication through education for all students who have entered the amazing world of cinema.
