ASPU, Yerevan Basic School after Gai signed MoC

The Faculty of Culture of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and Yerevan Basic School № 129 named after Gai (Hayk Bzhshkyants) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC).

Within the framework of cooperation, the parties will organize events, implement joint programs, professional meetings and visits, open classes, concerts. All these measures are aimed at strengthening student-pupil relationships.

Welcoming the guests, Dean of the Faculty of Culture at ASPU Gevorg Tadevosyan presented the educational institution (ASPU), professions it offers, emphasizing that early career orientation for pupils is crucial.

Anush Martirosyan, Principal of Yerevan Basic School № 129 named after Gai, believes that the signed document will be of great importance for an institution that has more than 300 children: the school has various art clubs, which also promotes love of culture among students and the prospect of becoming a student of the Faculty of Culture in the future.

The signing ceremony was followed by a concert, with the brass band of the Chair of Music performing under the leadership of Associate Professor Kolya Martirosyan. The band performed famous pieces, including “Jan, Yerevan” by A. Ayvazyan, “Golden Tango” by A. Babajanyan, “Oriental Dance" by R. Petrosyan, and “Erebuni-Yerevan” by E. Hovhannisyan. "Zvartnots" canon (also known as qanun) ensemble of the University performed “Dilijan” and "Sareri Hovin Mernem" ("I'd Die for the Wind of the Mountains") under the leadership of People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Professor Hasmik Leyloyan.

At the end of the concert, Anush Martirosyan handed over a letter of appreciation to Dean of the Faculty of Culture Gevorg Tadevosyan. Also, the pupils’ parents thanked the parties for the concert, noting the importance of quality music.
