On June 28, a meeting was organized at the University of Salerno, Italy, with the university students and academic staff members to present the summer school programme which will be held at the educational institution in July.
Christina Tsaturyan, Head of the International Cooperation Unit at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), who is in Italy within the framework of the project Erasmus Mundus Broadening Educational Experiences (EMBER), presented the teaching staff and students of the Italian university the experience of the Armenian university in organizing summer schools.
In her speech, she focused on the cultural peculiarities of Armenia and the structure of the ASPU.
The Italian side hailed the APSU’s experience in organizing international summer schools, saying the programme would be introduced at the University of Salerno for the first time this year. They said it would promote students’ involvement in intercultural communication and internationalization ‘at home.’ Accordingly, they called the programme “Open your mind: Internationalization at home.”
The meeting was attended by Nunzio Frayeze, Head of the International Cooperation Unit at the University of Salerno, Adalgiso Amendola, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Political Science, Social Science and Communication, Professor Francesca Manes Rossi, who is also the organizer of the summer school programme, as well as representatives of local financial and business organizations.
During the visit, the sides also discussed the prospects of deepening cooperation between the two universities in question within the framework of Erasmus+ programme, with the main accent on education and culture, international credit mobility and university development programmes.
