KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Awards ceremonies, organized within the framework of events marking the 100th anniversary of ASPU, are continuing.

By a decision of the Scientific Council, ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan awarded a “Khachatur Abovyan" medal, the highest award of ASPU, to Professor Rauni Rasanen of the University of Oulu, Finland.
Rector Gevorgyan noted that as a result of joint team work, professional educational programmes and subject descriptions had been revised and amended, also experience was gained within the framework of exchange programmed.

Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Tigran Mikayelyan, Deputy Dean Azganush Asatryan, Associate Professors Svetlana Adamova and Armen Agulyan were awarded "Pedagogical University" medals for their outstanding contributions to the development of higher education and the training of young professionals. Hayrapetyan were awarded ASPU Centennial commemorative medals for their contributions in the field of science and pedagogy.

Tigran Mikayelyan thanked the ASPU leadership for appreciating and awarding the devotees of the field in this busy and tense period. Associate Professor Mikayelyan says any award, especially the one in the field of pedagogy, belongs to everyone and is the result of teamwork.

Congratulating the University on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, Srbuhi Gevorgyan emphasized that each of the presentees has contributed to the preservation and development of the University's traditions and achievements. “Preparation and training, education and socialization of generations is the most important sphere, the solution of which ensures the security of the country. It shapes tomorrow's citizens, forms a value system, outlines abilities and potential; as a result, we have either achievements or defeats. The Faculty has a strong potential, a developed methodology, and the teaching staff stands out in the professional field by the ability of individual influence, and qualitative approach to issues and problems," the rector said adding that the methodology of the educational system developed by the Pedagogical University is very important.

A group of lecturers of the Faculty were awarded certificates of appreciation and honour for conscientious and effective performance of their professional duties.
