The Best Student awards ceremony was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University for the 8th year in a row. The ceremony was symbolic in the sense that it coincided with events marking the 95th anniversary of the University.
The ceremony was attended by Karen Avagyan, a lawmaker of the Armenian National Assembly and coordinator of the Board of Trustees of Armenian Youth Foundation, students, professors and leadership of the University.
Lilit Ghalechyan, a 1ts year student of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, became the winner of the competition held jointly by the ASPU Student Council and the Youth Foundation of Armenia.
The best student of 2017 will travel to Montenegro. The students of the University’s ten faculties were also awarded during the ceremony.
Karen Avagyan congratulated the students on the occasion of International Students' Day and stressed that their demand from students has remained the same: they want to see fresh and new ideas, new faces, anchored in patriotism and state-building.
“We can find the best everywhere. We want to see the best among students as well. Those are people, who spare no effort to succeed. The results are tangible: today they are the best at the University, tomorrow they will be the best at work,” he said.
Taking to old.aspu.am, Lilit Ghalechyan, the best student of the University, said the victory was unexpected for her. Parallel to her studies at the University, Lilit is doing research at the Institute of Organic Chemistry.
The future chemist thanked for the impartial attitude and support and said she would do her best to serve the knowledge she gained at the University for her country.
The event was followed by a concert. A group of singers, including Sofi Mkheyan, Leyla Saribekyan, Arsen Grigoryan (Mro), Sevak Khanaghyan, Sona Rubenyan and Arsen Safaryan, also congratulated the students with their performances.
