Hymn, prayers, patriotic songs, qochari- these have been uniting Armenians that were spread like breads all over the world throughout centuries and still continue to unite the nation who called to be unified, to turn the double –picked mounting into one, to turning stone into bread.
Within the scope of the course “Dramatic Speech Master Class” the students of the Faculty of Culture, Departments of Mass Event Production and TV Production staged a performance headed “Beyond Words” dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence.
The authors of the performance were the lecturers of the subject Grizelda Amiryan and Hakint Baghdasaryan who did not ignore the four-day frontline activities in April and filled the performance with a patriotic spirit.
The 18-year-old young man is well aware of the history of his nation, he is assured that all nations are guilty for the interest of which the Armenian land was divided into two parts; he knows that in all times Armenians are building with one hand and fighting with the other.
“With the God’s just command Armenians will make their fair trial; and you’d rather light yourselves instead of lighting a candle”, this is the students call to the international society that announces to everybody that the future of Armenians is in their homeland, urging them to stay stable in Armenia.
In the second part short performances were made from Charlie Chaplin’s letter to his daughter and Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s “Farewell Letter”.
Lecturers Hakint Baghdasaryan and Grizelda Amiryan highly praised the two months’ work of the students highlighting that as future producers they were endowed with the skills characteristic to artists.
Several genres are combined in the performance which the students possess with high mastery. It is pleasantly surprising to see the speech, musical and other skills of the freshmen, in particular”, mentioned Hakint Baghdasaryan and emphasized the importance of presenting the course on the stage and in front of the audience.
Grizelda Amiryan, the author of the performance script, confessed during the interview to the old.aspu.am that the recent happenings urged her to fill every minute of the performance with patriotic spirit and soul.
“Homeland is the most precious of all. Each and every of us must remember that we came to this world to do something good, to leave something behind”, the lecturer mentioned and added that young people of our days were honest, diligent and more than patriots.
The performance finished with the students’ confession towards their profession.
“Can you dislike theatre? Stage is a world, life, and shadow; if songs are silent and roles are gone, the stage will still be our dream.”
