KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

The Process of the project on internationalization strategy and marketing of Universities of Armenia within the framework of the ERASMUS+ BOOST was discussed during the meeting session with the Rector of the Pedagogical University.

This project, coordinated by the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovyan, aims at supporting and encouraging further internationalization of the RA higher educational institutions, by developing a framework and a set of tools in compliance with the national and institutional policies.

The members of the ASPU Rector’s Office got introduced with the project objectives as well as activities done by the time being, particularly the internationalization practice applied by the European and Armenian universities, as well as the existing resources and obstacles were studied, the issues in regards with universities in RA were outlined and discussed, the benchmarking indicators for internationalization of the RA universities were drafted. Within the scope of the project the strategic programmes for the internationalization of the universities were enhanced, the RA and EU best practices of internationalization were collected.

The ASPU Head of the Department of International Cooperation Mariana Harutunyan introduced the members of the Rector’s office with the projected activities, particularly stressing out the development of a national platform and integration of benchmarking indicators for the internationalization of the RA Universities, as well as the establishment of Departments of Cooperation in Armenian participating Universities, improvement of working processes by defining and installing the functions and relevant procedures. In her future activities Mariana Harutyunyan highlighted the capacities of participating institutions, spreading the experience among other universities, and developing an institutional marketing strategy.

We would like to mention that the Armenian partners of the ERASMUS+ BOOST are the American University of Armenia, the State University of Shirak, the Vanadzor State University after Hovhannes Tumanyan, the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the National Information Centre for Mutual Academic Acknowledgement and Mobility.
