Challenges for University-Employer Cooperation and Development Trends

National University-Labor Market Network (NULMN) established within the framework of the ARARAT project, as well as the testing of the ANQA-developed model of university-employer dialogue and its basic principles were presented during a workshop held in Aghveran on December 21-22.

Rita Gevorgyan, Head of the University–Employer Cooperation Centre, and Melanya Astvatsatryan, Head of the Chair of Foreign Language Teaching Methods, represented ASPU at the workshop.

Along with education experts and representatives of employers, a panel discussion was organized with stakeholders on the topic “Bridging the gap between higher education and the labour market: Employers' involvement in the development of professional higher education.” The aim of the discussion was to identify and define the mechanisms for incorporating knowledge (skills and abilities) needed to meet the labour market demands in the PEP in order to bridge the gap between higher education and the labor market.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA), National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Vanadzor Branch of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Shirak State University named after M. Nalbandyan, Goris State University, Republican Union of Employers of Armenia, Armenian National Students' Association (ANSA) and other stakeholders.
