Claiming for Justice in Students’ Performance

Today, the 4th year students of TV Direction performed Vahé Katcha’s play “A Cane”.

Director, Associate Professor Samvel Mickaelyan combined the message and the call that lies at the core of the paly to be demanding for justice.

The criminal is in jail, which is in fact, unacceptable for his blind brother Gestarmus; he is claiming to review the case.

The safety of the Jury is endangered; they urge Gestarmus to blame the laws and to attack justice. Despite all measures, Gestarmus states that that he will not be silent, will not tolerate, that the only way out for him is threatening.

The explosive cane forces the Jury to find possible and impossible ways; hence, they come to Gestarmus’ house to urge him to make a sensational announcement.

“In any group people have various portions of fault, but it is not easy to grant freedom to somebody, who has been sentenced to death”, the Jury states.
“The judges are greedy people full of money”, Gestarmus was assured; the audience was following his claim for justice in tension; the power of the cane seemed to have fulfilled the main hero’s desire.

Director Samvel Mickaelyan was glad with the students’ work; according to him they should be placed in various situations and evolve.

“I do not agree with the idea that today’s young people yield with their capacities; instead, we need to be able to identify the best among them and to guide them in their professional work”, the Director added.
