This year, as usual, the academic staff of the Pedagogical University together with the students joined the heavy crowd marching to the Tsitsernakaberd memorial.
The representatives of the University after Kh. Abovyan laid a wreath on the monument, thus, paying a tribute and holding a moment of silence to commemorate 1,5 million victims killed by the Ottoman Turkey from 1915-1923.
“Unrecognized Genocide gives a birth to new Genocides”, “NO to all kinds of crimes committed against humanity”, “Recognition, Condemnation, Compensation” – future pedagogues holding posters with other similar demanding content were calling for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and justice.
In his turn, the RA NA Deputy President, Lecturer of the Pedagogical University Eduard Sharmazanov expressed his opinion that April 24 was not a day for cry but a day of unity to prove that even though Armenians had been massacred, but they were, are and will be.
“Each nation is the forger of its own future despite the will of nomads. Future fight must be held on all fronts – in science, education, culture, diplomacy and morality; and here the future pedagogues also have their tasks to accomplish”, mentioned Eduard Sharmazanov assuring that there must be 2 hills in the axis of the Armenian fight - the Tsitsernakaberd memorial and the Erablur.
Moreover, the Head of the Chair of Music of the Pedagogical University Ara Gevorgyan is sure that the day is close when the enemy will admit its guilt as Armenians all over the world have joined the fight.
“We must be strong, powerful and unified to be able to force peace”, mentioned Ara Gevorgyan adding that he will continue claiming recognition of the Genocide committed 101 years ago with the help of his art on international stages.
