Common Learning Platform in CIS

From 19-20 November, a video-call was arranged from the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Yerevan (Rossotrudnichestvo) with the Saint-Petersburg Sate Economic University; the aim of the video-call was to ensure participation in the international scientific –practical conference headed “Development of the CIS Common Educational Platform, achievements, issues, perspectives”.

 The Head of the Cultural and Social Programmes of the Russian Center for Science and Culture Irina Kasatskaya participated in the video-conference.

 Likewise, the Director of the Russian Center for Science and Education in YerevanMark Kalinin made a report and mentioned the importance of establishing a common educational platform for CIS countries.

 Furthermore, the representative of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Pedagogy MayranushGevorgyan introduced her report on the topic of “Multicultural Educational Issues and Perspectives in Armenia”  

The latter referred to the actuality of international dialogues, its development tendencies as well as the empiric research results referring to this subject.

On the second day of the Conference a round table discussion was organized on the topic of “Inclusive Education for Persons with Special Needs of Education from the CIS countries” during which discussions about the establishment and development of a common learning platform continued. In particular, the questions of organizing and providing inclusive education in Armenia, Russian, Belarus, Tajikistan, and other CIS countries were referred to, as well as speeches were made about the arrangement of both state and private education sectors. 

 Moreover, during the session, the Associate Professor of the ASPU Department of Special Pedagogy and PsychologyTerezaAzatyan presented her report on “Students issues and perspectives in the context of inclusive education”.

The latter emphasized the importance to include the courses of “Inclusive Education Theory and Practice” and “Organization of Inclusive Education” in all faculties of ASPU both on Bachelor’s and Master’s levels on mandatory basis, and adding two selective courses; she also mentioned that several lecturers of their University should participate in training courses on “Access of Persons with Disabilities to Higher Education”.

 We should also mention that the Armenian State Pedagogical University has been cooperating with the Armenian office of Rossotrudnichestvo, and that it has strong and stable collaboration with the Saint- Petersburg Economic University.
