Filmmaker Arsen Arakelyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Radio and Television Journalism of the Faculty of Culture, paid a three-day visit to Artsakh State University (ArSU).
The visit was organized within the framework of cooperation between ASPU and ArSU. On the sidelines of the visit, the ASPU lecturer held four-hour seminars for ArSU students majoring in journalism.
The future journalists were introduced to the fundamentals of journalism, similarities between journalism and directing. Then they were given tasks and practical assignments. This was followed by film screening.
“Journalism, directing and mounting are interrelated. Modern journalism must contain elements of directing, and each report and article created by a journalist should remind of a mini film,” Arsen Arakelyan said in conversation with old.aspu.am. He was glad to mention that during the non-formal courses that he held in Artsakh even the students, who ‘had not written’ anything before, began to compose and create, besides, the material aroused great interest among MA students, postgraduates and lecturers in a short period of time.
Arsen Arakelyan underlined that regardless of the situation, the youth in Artsakh have thirst for knowledge and education, love and continue to think and create bright phenomena. “They were particularly interested in Classroom – a new e-learning platform. Prompted by the mutual desire, we decided to continue the courses via the Internet,” he added.
