Today, the ASPU welcomed the Head of the Tbilisi Regional Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) of the Federal Republic of Germany Gebhard Reul and the Advisor of the DAAD Scholarship Programmes in Armenian Arevik Harutyunyan.
The Pedagogical University is starting cooperation with the new Tbilisi Regional Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the scope of the events organised on the ASPU 100th anniversary.
As a result of cooperation, the ASPU Faculty and students will have the opportunity not only to apply for scholarships, but also to receive counseling from the Armenian Programme Coordinator and Advisor of the Tbilisi Regional Office Arevik Harutyunyan.
The ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel Matters and International Cooperation Marianna Harutyunyan highlighted the role of the German Academic Exchange Service in the process of internationalisation of the University, in conducting scientific -research activities, as well as the opportunity to represent all other programmes and activities through the DAAD scope.
In addition, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Srbouhi Lulukyan in her turn outlined the great opportunities of interdisciplinary and intercollegiate cooperation with the ASPU and its Faculties and various international institutions, in line with expansion of network and connections, and improvement of education quality.
The German Academic Exchange Service is a massive organisation operating in international students’ and scientists’ exchange, and the only scholarship organisation in Armenia which welcomes students and scientists in all sectors.
The first scholarships granted to Armenian students were in 1990; so far more than 2500 Armenian students and scientists have received this scholarship.
Moreover, DAAD offers the best opportunity to conduct scientific -research work both for students of German studies, as well as for professionals and students of other disciplines. The ASPU Faculty of Foreign languages also actively cooperates with the Regional Office and within that framework enjoys the opportunity to be involved in various research programmes and training sessions.
