Diplomas continue to be granted to graduates at the Armenian State Pedagogical University. Today diplomas were solemnly granted to graduates of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, as well as the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography.
Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan congratulated the graduates of the ASPU on the occasion of the festive day and underscored the importance of college years in terms of their professional careers and communication in society.
Srbuhi Gevorgyan noted that the teaching profession is the most honorable profession in the 21st century that has passed the most difficult cycle in terms of challenges. She didn’t consider it by chance that the natural science sector is not the preferred sector when compared with other sectors in Armenia and other parts of the world.
The Rector also touched upon the reforms in the STEM disciplines, talked about the current demands and, in this sense, attached importance to the formation of professional abilities of the graduates — something that is mostly conditioned by the intelligent professors of the faculties who are the leading professors in the disciplines. “I am certain that most of you will go on to join the ranks of the Chairs of the University and the teachers of the University’s Basic and High Schools, and this will give you an opportunity to achieve new heights,” the Rector mentioned.
The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics has 172 graduates, while the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography has 84, and 70 of them received red diplomas (diplomas with honors).
Congratulating the students, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography Sirine Shogheryan noted that, due to their great desire and persistence and with dignity, the students succeeded in overcoming the hardships in their studies. She wished that they dare to dream, believe in their own strengths and make new achievements.
Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics Gagik Demirkhanyan also expressed congratulatory remarks and said he believes the students have passed the major stage of their lives. He fully hopes that most of the graduates will adhere to their calling, educate a generation of patriots and instill interest in the science sector. “Education starts from school; our professions are the pillars of the State, and their development will add strength to the force that is also necessary from the perspective of security,” the Dean concluded.
