Discussing the Modern Issues of Primary Education

“Throughout 100 years, the Pedagogical University, particularly the Faculty of Primary Education, which is the same age as the University itself, has been training pedagogues, thus, contributing to the development of our society, survival of the nation and its security. This Faculty is the only pedagogical forge in the country preparing specialists for pre-school institutions and elementary schools. Today, our graduates are working in various schools, establishing their own educational and development centres”, mentioned the Deputy Dean for Science and International Cooperation of the Faculty Lucine Poghosyan in her opening address at the international conference headed “Modern Issues of Primary Education”, organized by the initiative of the ASPU Faculty of Primary Education today. Besides, the Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor Lucine Poghosyan added that each of those present was one of the creators of interesting and meaningful history of the Pedagogical University, and that they should all realise the important mission they were carrying on their shoulders.

The ASPU Vice-Rector for Education and Science Mariam Ispiryan highlighted the importance of organisation of the conference within the scope of the 100th anniversary of establishment of the University, and mentioned that it seemed to be a kind of review both for the professoriate and the students. Additionally, the Vice-Rector outlined that the role and mission of pedagogues were extremely important, and that they needed stable schools and a society with strong value system.

Further, at the annual international conference “Modern Issues of Primary Education” the professoriate, the students and the PhDs of the ASPU Chair of Mother Tongue and its Teaching Methods after Ashot Ter-Grigoryan, as well as the lecturers and the PhD students of foreign universities, who had joined the conference online, presented their reports.

She observed that taking into consideration the post-war period, in 2021-2020 the Chair had reviewed both the aim of the course and its objectives, as well as its content.

“The formation of the image of an Armenian teacher as an educator and transmitter of national values was adopted as a guiding point. But we also didn’t miss out the educational goal and objectives of the course to train teachers, who would master language theory, be able to correctly and accurately practice them, would be endowed with practical skills and abilities to teach language at primary schools, teachers who would be the carriers of national values.

Next, the Associate Professor of the same Chair, Candidate of Philology Eva Mnatsakanyan presented her report headed “H. Tumanyan’s “Brave Nazar” reviewed by N. Aghbalyan”. The presenter spoke about the universal symptom of “nazarism” and mentioned that the fairy tale finished with the wisdom fixed by the sober life experience, that “the symptom of the Brave Nazar” would be perpetual and its constant presence would accompany numerous generations.

Afterwards, the PhD student of the ASPU Chair of Pedagogy Syuzanna Ginosyan spoke about the essence of pedagogical synergy in the sphere of professional education. The young scientist presented the aim of her research, the multi-factor synergetic system in professional education and the corresponding conclusions thereon.
