KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Recently, Candidate of Science in Psychology, Associate Professor Lilit Mkrtumyan organized a discussion at the ASPU within the framework of “Study of Psychological Problems of Students in Transforming Society” - a scientific direction of the Research Laboratory for Psychology in Crisis and Emergency Situations operating under the Chair of Theory and History of Psychology.

The discussion focused on distortion of a child's mental health and psychological safety after his/her mother’s reputation is destroyed in media. The discussion was attended by lecturers and guests. The participants also watched short videos telling how social media destroy mothers’ reputation and analyzed their impact on children from a psychological perspective.

After analyzing the discredited image of mothers in different films and cartoons the specialists decided to issue and spread in the educational institutions of Armenia an analytical and methodological manual. It will provide a psychological coverage of the issue and become a guidebook for parents and educators who have undertaken the responsible mission of raising and educating children.
