Edgar Hovhannisyan receives Pázmány Péter Commemorative Medal

Recently, Dean of the Faculty of History and Social Sciences Edgar Hovhannisyan, has been awarded with a commemorative medal of Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU) for his efforts to develop and strengthen ties between the two universities – PPCU and ASPU. The award was handed over by Dr. Nándor Birher, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at PPCU. The Hungarian colleagues congratulated Edgar Hovhannisyan, appreciating his contributions to the exchange of professors and students, and to the establishment of the Chair of Armenology (Armenian Studies) at PPCU.

It is due to mention that as a member of the examination committee, Edgar Hovhannisyan participates in the Master’s final exams of the Chair of Armenian Studies. This year, a group of ASPU students were among the graduates of the Hungarian university.

In a conversation with www.old.aspu.am, Edgar Hovhannisyan said the medal is binding. Among many tangible achievements, he singled out the opening of the Chair of Armenian Studies which offers bachelor's and master's degree programs. He says it is an exceptional phenomenon in Europe particularly considering the closure of Chairs of Armenian Studies in recent years.

Edgar Hovhannisyan expressed his gratitude for the appreciation and award and expressed hope that the sides will continue cooperation and have more tangible achievements.
