Delegates of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) completed the results of their three-day visit to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic at Artsakh State University.
ASPU and ArSU have a long history of cooperation: they two universities have been cooperating in educational, research and methodological spheres.
ASPU delegates first paid tribute to the memory of fallen soldiers of Artsakh State University and then toured the university.
“Basis for close and deep cooperation between the two universities has been laid in recent years. We need to expand directions of cooperation by organizing internships, reciprocal exchange of students and academic staff between the two universities in question. The cooperation is mutually beneficial and will be ongoing,” said ASPU Vice-Rector Armen Tamazyan.
Vitya Yaramishyan, Vice-Rector of Artsakh State University, also highlighted the cooperation between the two universities. “We implement a number of educational, scientific and cultural events within the framework of this cooperation. Artsakh State University was established on the basis of a pedagogical institute, and cooperation with ASPU is a necessity in this context. The cooperation is an enjoyable process as it contributes to increasing the effectiveness of contacts between lecturers and students. The Pedagogical University also helps us in issues related to the supervision of research topics for degree seekers and associate professors,” he said.
At the initiative of Tigran Petrosyants, Head of the ASPU Academic Library, over 100 books were donated to the ArSU Library. Most of the books written by ASPU lecturers were published between 2015 and 2016. Vitya Yaramishyan thanked their partner university – ASPU - for productive cooperation and expressed hope that mutual visits will become frequent.
Ani Harutyunyan, a participant of the Summer School 2016 international programme and a student of Artsakh State University, also emphasized cooperation between the two universities.
“This cooperation and especially Summer School programmes give us a great opportunity, because being a state university our university faces some restrictions in view of participating in international projects. The cooperation helps us establish new ties and friendly contacts, have professional achievements and appear in a friendly atmosphere,” Ani said adding that in the near future, they plan to organize mutual visits of students and participate in a number of scientific conferences and events.
ASPU delegates wrapped up their three-day stay in Artsakh with a study visit to the historical and cultural sites of the country. The students visited
Dadivank, Gandzasar and “We are our Mountains” monument, mostly known as “Tatik and Papik” (grandmother and grandfather). They also visited Stepanakert and other picturesque places in Artsakh.
