Eighty-one undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian State Pedagogical University participated in the casting of lots held within the framework of a Summer School programme initiated by the University.
Thanks to the programme, they will visit ASPU’s partner universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Belarus, Lithuania, Finland and Hungary. The students of these universities, likewise, will visit ASPU’s training base in Aghavnadzor, Armenia.
About 200 students had applied to participate in the programme but only 74 were chosen. Another seven students participated in the drawing of lots for the programme in a special order. These students spent their summer holidays in the Aghavnadzor-based center of the University last summer.
This year, they are given an opportunity to participate in the Summer School programme outside Armenia.
As in the previous year, ten students who have met the requirements of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, will travel to the Moscow City Psycho-Pedagogical University without participating in the drawing.
Ara Yeremyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, congratulated the wining students, stressing that the quality of participants has bettered in parallel to the expansion of cooperation. “Everyday communication with young people from different countries will help eliminate the language barrier and strengthen cultural ties between different countries. It is also very important in terms of internationalization of the Pedagogical University,” he said.
Head of the International Cooperation Department, Christina Tsaturyan, once again reminded that the Commission was most objective and impartial while summarizing the results of the competition and took into consideration the results and scores of the competition, communication skills and abilities of the students, as well as their academic performance and progress if they had the same points.
Also, a meeting was held with the students who had dropped out of the drawing to discuss all these issues with them.
Students from ASPU’s partner universities will arrive in Armenia to spend their summer holidays at the University’s educational base in Aghavnadzor within the framework of the Summer School programme.
