KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

The European Day of Languages (EDL) was celebrated at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU). EDL was proclaimed by the Council of Europe on 6 December, 2001. It aims to encourage lifelong language learning in and out of school.

With the help of Professor Melanya Astvatsatryan, Head of the Chair of Foreign Language Teaching Methods at ASPU, Doctor of Pedagogy, the students organized an interesting event to mark the day. They congratulated the audience in different languages and made the day a memorable one with their musical performances. The students are sure that knowledge of foreign languages is very important; it is a window to the world. They believe that this kind of events increase people’s interest in languages and their worldview.
