“Since the formation of human society, Armenians have highly appreciated the role of education and treated it with great responsibility. That is why today our nation is considered a nation with high intellectual abilities,” said Doctor of Pedagogy and Professor Laura Asatryan.
The first-ever International Day of Education proclaimed by UN General Assembly was marked at the ASPU Museum of History on January 24.
Professor Laura Asatryan presented the participants of the event - the teaching staff of ASPU and ASPU Base College, the role of education in the life of the Armenian people at different times, as well as the history of the development of national education. Once again she stressed that education has been the key to preserving our national identity and statehood.
Alvard Grigoryan, Director of the ASPU Museum, thanked Laura Asatryan and stressed that the professor has played a major role in pedagogy and education. She emphasized the need to mark the International Day of Education with different events, which will allow re-evaluating the role and importance of education.
Also, a temporary exhibition was opened at the museum on the occasion of the day where documents, orders and opinions of prominent scholars about the history of the Pedagogical University are presented.
At the end of the event, the attendees reiterated that education has been, is and will be one of the most important pillars of our country's development.
