KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Pupils are again on the stage of the Pedagogical University; this time the first year pupils of the ASPU base school “Zatikner” [ladybirds] class, together with their class teacher Hasmik Sosikyan bid farewell to the ABC –book.

Songs, poems, mini-performances, etc. all dedicated to this day; in this format the pupils presented their knowledge about the creation of the alphabet to the teachers and parents and assured that this was one of the unforgettable days of their life as they already knew the alphabet, could write and read.

The “Zatikner” presented the period when Mesrop Mashtots was discussing the creation of an alphabet with the King Vramshapouh; the attendees of the event mentally moved back to Vagharshapat, where the King and Catholicos were welcoming the Saints of the Armenian history – Mesrop Mashtots and his pupils with the exclamations “Our people deserve this miracle”, “He brought in the writing and saved us”.

With their words the children proved that the Armenian alphabet expressed pride, as well as called Mesrop Mashtots the all-Armenian father of writing and schooling.

The pupils happily bid farewell to the Alphabet as the whole course of the event was accompanied by the sincere words uttered by the children mixed up with promises to ceaselessly glorify the Armenian alphabet, and that the knowledge received therewith would open the following pages of their life.

The Director of the School Naira Toghanyan congratulated the pupils, the parents, and the teachers for overcoming the most important and complicated path of learning the alphabet and wished them good luck.
