“Exhibition is Triumph for Us”

“Today, an important happening took place in the life of the University as the exhibition of the graduates’ works was a real phenomenon in this honorary exhibition hall and a true victory for the students”, the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan mentioned at the opening of the exhibition of graduates of the Faculty of Art Education in the Artists Union, expressing a hope that such initiatives will have continuous basis.

Likewise, the Rector highly praised the role of the Head of the Chair of Fine Arts Paravon Mirzoyan as a result of which there were numerous achievements, particularly the international artists’ plenaries with participation of renowned painters from six countries and twelve students of the Faculty.

“The University will undertake all the possible steps for the students to have an opportunity to study in the World’s leading institutions for a semester within the Bologna education system”, assured he Rector and called for the students to master foreign languages and modern technologies in addition to being talented, while the University will continue running a student-centered policy and laying the path for the best ones.
Paintings, graphics and other pieces in eighty-two genres will be exhibited for three days in the Artists Union which is an unprecedented and exceptional event in the history of the Faculty of Art Education.

In his turn the President of the Artists Union Karen Aghamyan was happy for the exhibition of the students’ works assuring that the authors of a vast number of exhibitions in the Union were and are graduates of the Pedagogical University, which stands for the high level of knowledge and quality of education provided by the University.

“This year’s graduates had such success that will lay a new path in their lives; this exhibition was the first step which they have achieved throughout four years of great efforts and dedication”, mentioned the Head of the Chair of Fine Arts Paravon Mirzoyan and highlighted the consistent work and attention of the University’s management towards the profession.

137 works of the graduates were selected and assessed by the Final Examination Committee presided by the Honored Painter Haghtanak Shahumyan who stated at the exhibition opening ceremony “No matter what the young artists will be engaged in –pedagogical activities or art, they will still contribute to the development and dissemination of the culture of our nation.

In addition, the Honored Artist expressed desire to see that the excitement of that day would accompany young artists throughout their lives setting a target to enrich the Armenian culture with new names of artists and highly evaluated works.

To conclude, the graduates expressed acknowledgements to the teaching –professorial team for passing on their mastery and knowledge and assured that they will be honoured to receive the ASPU Diploma. They share the opinion that the works are filled with love, devotion, great friendship of supervisors and students.

“The exhibition is a victory for us”, the new painters stated proudly and confessed that it was also obliging them to better up capacities and to have an objective to act as individual artists in future.
