Exhibition of works by ASPU Base College students

The exhibition of works by students of the Fine Art stream of the ASPU Base (High-School) College has opened at the Faculty of Art Education.

The exhibition hall was packed. Thirty-three works by 25 10-12th graders were presented during the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the University.

Experts say the exhibited paintings, graphic works, and miniatures are beautiful in their own way; they are like little gems.

“Fine art is a field that loves education - education with a high-class specialist. The teachers of the school, who know their work very well, perform this function with great love and dedication. Acquiring professional skills in school and continuing them in a higher educational institution is a beautiful tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. We, ASPU representatives, continue that tradition from school to university, continue that tradition,” Ara Hakobyan, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, said in his opening remarks and advised novice specialists to ‘never go after quantity and size when creating.’ though small in size, the works of a number of world-famous artists are gems of art and works of genius.

Professor Hakobyan emphasized the role of ASPU Vice-Rector Naira Safaryan in the establishment of the college, considering her one of the founding pillars of the college. Even today, she continues strengthening the school-university ties with her energy and activity, he stressed.

Naira Safaryan congratulated the students on the occasion of the exhibition and on ASPU’s jubilee and confessed that any initiative held at the University is a reason to be proud of. The quality of the exhibits multiplies that pride.

Nairi Balabekyan, a Fine arts teacher and a graduate of ASPU, also congratulated the students for their first but steady steps.

He is proud that in the near future many of his students will have the opportunity to receive knowledge from his professors and masters.

Nairi Balabekyan says before the exhibition, he made some observations and the students made the appropriate corrections. Specialists avoided interfering
emphasized that before the demonstration, remarks were made, and the students made appropriate corrections. They avoided interfering with the works; they wanted people to see the authors through the exhibits.

The young pedagogue is sure that in the 21st century a teacher should be familiar with innovations in the field. "Today, the application of techniques, selection of materials and their combination are extremely important, which a pedagogue should also master, at the same time encouraging young creators with his advice."

“A drunken Evening" … This is the name of the work by Mary Musayelyan, an 11th grader of the cultural stream. In a conversation with old.aspu.am, Mary said this is the first time she has participated in an exhibition. She says the work shows her temperament and type [of personality], ethereal and full of dreams.

The student of the college was also oriented in the matter of choosing a profession. like many of his classmates, he will receive higher education at the Faculty of Art Education of ASMU, discovering the multi-layered and beautiful world of clothing modeling.

Mary has already made her career choice. Like many of her classmates, she will continue her study at the Faculty of Art Education at ASPU, discovering the multi-layered and beautiful world of clothes design.

The exhibition will run until December 6.
