Exhibition on the 100th Anniversary of the ASPU

Today, the exhibition of artwork creations of the ASPU students of the Faculty of Primary Education was launched at the Yerevan School N135 after Gagik Stepanyan. Among the guests of this event, organised on the 100th anniversary of establishment of the University there were the ASPU Acting Rector Professor Srbouhi Gevorgyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education Heghinei Khachatryan, the Head of the Department of Pedagogy Professor Aida Topuzyan, the Faculty, and students.

“The exhibitions presented by the Faculty of Primary Education are traditional for us, they are a form of review of unique imagination, mindset, and creativity of our students. And in fact, the launching of this exhibition at this school is not incidental, it aims at developing pupils’ creativity, artistic taste, and education.”, mentioned the ASPU Acting Rector Srbouhi Gevorgyan and hoping for the event to strengthen the long-term cooperation and contribute to the effectiveness of the university-school relations.

Besides, Srbouhi Gevorgyan noticed that the event had a special sacrament as the University was marking the centennial of its establishment and with this in mind the works by both current students and the alumni were exhibited; moreover, many of them were currently teaching at that school.
In her turn, the ASPU Acting Rector outlined the long lasting and effective cooperation with the Yerevan School N135 after Gagik Stepanyan both during the learning processes and in the scope of various initiatives, which, in fact, aims at providing education to generations and jointly forming a pedagogical paradigm that’s in fact an imperative for today.

“The concept of “preparing a new teacher” should be the result of joint work for all of us and the ASPU, while in professional and educational programmes of the ASPU schools will be a priority.”

On the occasion of the centennial of the Pedagogical University, the Headmaster of the Yerevan School N135 after Gagik Stepanyan Mr. Garegin Nersesyan congratulated the leaders, lecturers, students, and the alumni of the University.

On a century-old jubilee of the University, Garegin Nersesyan presented the ASPU Acting Rector with a Gold Medal after Gagik Stepanyan.

In addition, the Headmaster expressed his acknowledgements for preparing excellent teachers for schools and assured that after this outstanding jubilee they were obliged to work even better and to show the outcomes of those 100 years.

Furthermore, Garegin Nersesyan expressed his hope that the cooperation between the school and the Pedagogical University would be continuous.

Next, the Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, Candidate of Pedagogy Heghinei Khachatryan observed that the school was an old friend to them University and added that the exhibition had a long way to pass. In the near future, it is planned to be presented in other partnering schools, and the final exhibition will be held at the ASPU School N57.

The ASPU Professor Sergo Yeritsyan, who was also present at the event, highly praised the cooperation between the two educational institutions, noting that the link between the university and school should be very strong as that was necessary to educate valuable specialists for future.
“This exhibition is symbolic and affirms that the 100-year-old institution providing pedagogical education should contribute to improvement of professional skills and qualities through various initiatives and events”.

Later on, a flash mob was performed by the pupils of the Yerevan School N135, followed by the presentation of the history and chronology of the 100-year-old University, once again highlighting the role and importance of pedagogy in the life of our country.

More than 70 pieces of artwork were presented at the exhibition of creations of the students of the Faculty of Primary Education.

Summing up, we would like to remind that the aim of the event initiated by the Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor Zhanna Khachatryan was to explore professional qualities and capacity of students.
