Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God celebrated

On 17 August, the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, which is the fourth of the five calendar holidays of the Armenian Church and the oldest one dedicated to Our Lady.

Within the scope of the events organized on this occasion, the Student Council of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) actively cooperated with the Diocese of Artik and the administration of Yeraz Park.
Organized by the Diocese of Artik, the festive event featured performances of songs and dances by Artik’s Angels Dance Studio and Pink Stones band.

The active members of the ASPU Student Council participated in and made their major contribution to the organizing of the festivities.

The solemn “Blessing of Grapes” ceremony was conducted at Yeraz Park, after which the members of “Navakatik” Educational-Cultural Center and “Masunk” traditional song and dance ensemble performed the Armenian wedding ritual.

There were also master classes, particularly batik, ceramics illustration, national costumes illustration, macrame, dollmaking at Teryan Cultural Center, and cross-stitch weaving, carpet weaving, felting and pottery at “Navakatik”.

The event ended with “TarazFest-2025” and live performances of the best ethnic songs by the Armenian Ethno Colors band.

On the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, the representatives of the ASPU also visited Haritchavank Monastery, which is one of the medieval monastic complexes of Armenia.
