Today, the Rouben of the Pedagogical University Mirzakhanyan had a meeting with graduating students from ten Faculties prior to the graduate examinations.
The aim of already traditional meeting was the same – to listen to the students’ concerns, the existing problems that they face in the learning process, as well as to introduce the new procedure of organizing the examinations.
The Rector of the University emphasized in the beginning that students having shown high academic progress will have the opportunity to continue the work at the native University; during the recent years the ASPU staff was to a large extent replenished with the best graduates.
In addition, Rouben Mirzakhanyan mentioned that the traditional examination process will be exchanged with a new electronic examination still in three Faculties – Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, and the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography.
“We are interested that the examinations are held in a due procedure with the availability of professional and academic literature, programmes and dictionaries that will help to demonstrate knowledge they have acquired during the academic years thus facilitating the examination process”.
The Rector also highlights that the students will have three possibilities to change the examination questions with the permission of the examination committee, and in case of not being able to answer, they will have the chance to take it in the following academic year.
Furthermore, the Lecturer of the Chair of Informatics and its Teaching Methods Samvel Asatryan introduced the new electronic form of examination process, which was, in fact, developed and programmed by the ASPU BA students of Informatics.
Presentation of the examination booklet, the process of searching for a student in the database, providing an examination ticket- these and other technical details were provided to and discussed with the graduates.
Similarly, the Head of the University gave comprehensive replies regarding the increase of the number of internship hours, including the portfolio in final examinations, transferring the course of “Pedagogy” into the final academic year, giving a privilege to those having passed the mandatory military service and willing to continue education, and other issues.
Rouben Mirzakhanyan wished the students good luck wishing them a successful start and effective finalization of examinations.
