First Prize in the “Best Audio Guide” Competition

From 3-9 July, the Pedagogical University History Museum won the first prize out of three among thirty participating countries in the 24th ICOM Assembly in Milan, Italy.

The audio guide presented at the competition was headed “Armenia- the land of living stones” which was revealing the mysteries of 23 monuments in Armenia, telling about the picturesque nature and national traditions, architectural creations.

In addition, the Museum authored 4 audio stories which give the chance to get acquainted with the museums of Yerevan, the famous and unknown monuments, and the history of Yerevan metropolitan.

During the Assembly the Senior Researcher of the Museum Marianna Manucharyan presented the report on the joint activities between the University and the IZI.travel and demonstrated her work having won at the competition.

What is more, the Assembly set the start for further new cooperation programmes and meetings.

“The participants and organizers were very pleased with and highly praised the completed work qualifying it as an immense and patriotic step in representing the native country and university”, Marianna Manucharyan mentioned in her interview to the old.aspu.am.

We would like to remind that the cooperation between the Pedagogical University and the IZI.travel international organization commenced at the 23rd ICOM Assembly under the UNESCO organized in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2013.

The Pedagogical University Museum was the first to start the free audio guide programme of the IZI.travel service.
