Future conductors are on stage

“Ani” vocal ensemble of Armenian State Pedagogical University and 3rd year students of the Chair of Music Education of the Faculty of Art Education performed a joint concert at the University.

The string quartet of the Faculty accompanied by the University students performed popular Christmas songs as well as songs from films simultaneously presenting information about each song.

The orchestra was led by students which was a unique experience for future conductors.

With their performances, the students congratulated the University on its 95th anniversary and the attendees on the upcoming New Year. They expressed hope that they were able to give pleasant moments to the audience thanks to the magic power of music.

Sargis Elbakyan, Head of the Chair of Music Education, appreciated the students' initiative to organize a concert and added that it should serve as an example for other students as well.

"This is a creative profession, so it is very difficult to bring the educational process to the stage,” he said adding that the concert was a great achievement for students.

Susanna Petrosyan, the artistic director of the concert and assistant at the Chair of Music Education, was also pleased with the work of their students. She stressed that the students made a great step in their profession with their diligence and high performance.

Susanna Petrosyan regretted to say that sometimes students put aside their creative work especially during the period of examinations, whereas it is very important for future conductors to perform such concerts.
