Today, within the scope of “Open Doors” programme, the 4th year TV and Radio Journalism students of the Pedagogical University visited the RA National Assembly; the NA Head of Information Department Maro Asatryan introduced the students with the structure of the parliament, the activities of the legislative body, the work of the Deputies.
The students had the chance to follow the activities on the regular four-day sitting session of the legislative body; the NA Vice-President, the graduate of the ASPU Eduard Sharmazanov conducted the open lesson for the students of the Pedagogical University, who had visited the parliament.
He answered to the students’ questions which mainly referred to the situation on the Karabagh-Azerbaijan border in the recent days, as well as the military activities of the Armenian Armed Forces, the feedback from the international institutions, and the information wars.
There is no peace but there is no war either; there is a state of war, and for that reason we need to be ready for everything.
“If we want to have a state, a country, armed forces, then you need to pay for it; that’s the price for independence. We are facing an enemy which has been collecting money for twenty years. However, the events of the recent days have shown that they cannot achieve success.”
The NA Vice-President expressed his discontent regarding the assessment of the international society emphasizing that it not only did not please him, but rather makes him angry.
“Each country has its national interest; we need to learn to count on ourselves not forgetting that it is better to have a bad peace rather than a good war- there is no such thing.”
Moreover, during the meeting, Eduard Sharmazanov spoke about the role of journalist and its importance in the formation of a public opinion noting that journalists’ words can have bigger influence than that of political figures.
In addition, speaking about the activities of mass media in the recent days, Eduard Sharmazanov highlighted that the integrity of media, the absence of sensational and negative information, which changed the countries moral and psychological image.
“It is important for journalists to be educated and literate; it is not less important to take the national interest into consideration”, Sharmazanov added and urged the future specialists to become experienced journalists dictating taste.
At the end of the visit, the day was concluded with a photo with the NA Vice-President at the Session hall.
