On October 18, students and lecturers of the Faculty of Art Education hosted Claude Armen Mutafian, an honorary doctor of Yerevan State University, Professor of the Sorbonne University, a historian and expert in Armenian studies. He is the son of French-Armenian painter Zareh Mutafian.
During the meeting with the ASPU students, the guest spoke about Zareh Mutafian’s art, combining the lecture with a didactic presentation of the artist's works. His speech was followed by a question and answer session.
Zareh Mutafian painted in almost all genres - portrait, still life, landscape, thematic painting. With the help of his pictures painted in Armenia - autumn landscapes, Mount Ararat, churches and architectural monuments, Mutafian showed his patriotism and his true image as a person in love with native nature.
Zareh Mutafian also wrote several texts and books about the history of painting and esthetics.
