Future special educators visit orphanage

At the initiative of lecturer Svetlana Muradyan, first-year students of the Faculty of Special Education (Preschool Correctional Pedagogy) recently visited the “Mary Izmirlian” Orphanage.

The aim of the visit was to give presents to the children of the orphanage and convey them smiles and festive mood on the threshold of New Year, make their daily routine a fairy tale and become convinced once more in the choice of their profession and future career.

“This was our first visit to an orphanage. The visit made it clear that these children need our help,” future special educators told old.aspu.am confessing that before meeting these children with special needs they often thought about changing their future career.

Svetlana Muradyan, a lecturer of Foundations of Special Pedagogy, highlighted the visit saying it provided face-to-face interaction between children and students and was a good way of using theoretical knowledge in practice. She assured everyone that similar visits would be organized in the future as well.
