A game debate on the topic “Inclusive Education is justified in Armenia” was organized jointly by the Debate Club of the Student Council of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education and Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Mikael Manukyan.
Robert Azaryan, Professor of the Chair of Special Pedagogy and Psychology, stressed the importance of the discussion on the above-mentioned topic and presented the Student Council a copy of his book “Special Pedagogy” - a handbook intended for use at universities.
The game debate was conducted by A. Melkonyan, Chairman of the Student Council of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education, O. Surenyan, Vice-Chairman of the Debate Club and Professor M. Manukyan. The team “Con” was named winner of the game. The team members stressed that they are not against inclusive education, but they are convinced that inclusive education is not yet justified in our society.
Professor Manukyan and Vice-Chairman of the Student Council E. Ismailiyan made speeches at the end of the event. The latter said he would like students to refer to the topic in their papers and works. He proposed to create a manual for parents who deal with problem children.
