The Doctor of the Free University of Berlin, Professor Matias Fritz visited the students and lecturers of the University by the invitation of the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Teaching Methods Melanya Astvatsatryan.
“During the lecture on the topic of “American and British borrowings in modern German” the Professor spoke about language issues in the European countries, presented the results of his methodological and linguistic studies.
The guest with the wide range of studies also referred to German language development tendencies, assuring that the number of countries using German was gradually getting bigger.
“It’s a pity that the number of schools teaching German language got less in Armenia, but the role of that language is huge in Europe; love and interest towards German must first of all start from teaching”, Matias Fritz mentioned in his interview to the old.aspu.am and added that he was raptured with the Armenian student’s understanding of German language and the great tendency to learn it.
And last but not least, the latter also translated Yeghishei Charents’ collection of works published in Germany, and continues cooperation with both students and lecturers within the framework of various conferences and research initiatives.
Within the scope of the visit, the Professor had a meeting with the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan. The Professor will be lecturing at the Pedagogical University starting from the Academic year 2016-2017.
