On June 6, graduates of a number of Faculties of the Pedagogical University received graduation diplomas.
Araksya Svajyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, congratulated the graduates of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education, wishing them interesting jobs and an efficient and fruitful activity.
The deputy minister, who is also a graduate of ASPU, expressed hope that thanks to the education and skills they have received the new generation of special education teachers will bring the necessary changes in the field. "Universal inclusive education is introduced at all educational levels. This implies that the educational institutions, pedagogues, and all RA citizens who study will need pedagogical and psychological support; your profession will be in high demand. Sometimes we regret to say that the need for the services we provide increases year by year, but the process should be viewed from different perspectives. I am sure that you will use the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired during the course of study not only to support people with disabilities, but also for every learner,” Araksya Svajyan said.
This year, the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education has 123 graduates, including 39 BA students, 46 MA students, and 38 students taking a distance learning course. Forty-seven students have received diplomas with honours.
The dean of the Faculty, heads of the Chairs and professors, congratulated the graduates, conveying their best wishes.
ASPU Vice-Rector Marianna Harutyunyan, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education, also congratulated the graduating students wishing them good luck. She hopes that special needs teachers will achieve success in their professional field and uphold the honour of the university.
Madlen Minasyan also graduated from the Faculty with honours. She is proud that she has chosen the profession of speech therapist. She has been actively engaged in that field since the years of study. Madlen is not going to say goodbye to her Alma Mater yet. She has planned to continue her studies for a postgraduate degree. She says she has chosen the best profession and advises her junior friends not to be satisfied with the knowledge they have obtained at the university, but to self-educate and develop every day.
On the occasion of the day, congratulations and wishes were voiced at the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology as well. Graduation diplomas were handed over to the graduates by ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan, Dean Ruzanna Petrosyan and heads of the Chairs.
This year, the Faculty has 227 graduates, including 113 BA students, 33 MA students, and 81 students taking a distance learning course. Forty-three students have received diplomas with honours.
“We should keep our hand on the pulse of the century. I congratulate and assure you that we have fulfilled our duties and responsibilities. No function/provision provided by the educational program has been left unfinished. I think that we have been able to transfer [you] theoretical and practical necessary skills, to give you what today's labour market demands." Dean of the Faculty Ruzanna Petrosyan said when congratulating the graduates. She thanked them for choosing the Faculty that has years of history, great experience and wisdom.
She is sure they will uphold the name of the University and will be proud of the Faculty in the future.
