Graduation Certificates to 2417 Students

Today, graduation certificates were handed over to the graduates of the Pedagogical University of the 2017/18 academic year.

On the same day, about 2417 full-time and distant-learning undergraduates and postgraduates received their BA and MA certificates; the best 20 certificates for excellent academic progress were awarded by the Minister of ES Mr. Araik Harutyunyan.

The Minister of ES congratulated the current year’s graduates and assured that their graduation certificate stood for the important period of life, when they closed one page and opened a new one.

“You will be the Ambassadors in various educational institutions and, please, believe me that much more depend on your work than you can simply imagine, it is similar to the operation of a whole government. It fully depends on you what kind of pupils we will have, and whether they will finish schools as independent, moulded, criticising, analytic, or memorising people”, mentioned Minister Harutyunyan and assured that the future pedagogues had a lot to do in this direction.

In addition, Mr. Araik Harutyunyan spoke about education as a future security issue and added that together they should start the process of raising the prestige of teachers; the Pedagogical University had a significant role in this progression, too.

Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan also congratulated the graduates and, stressing out the importance of a teacher’s role, noted, “We always have a teacher in our life, and our teacher remain as a bright figure in our heart and in the memory of each and every of us. Even in those in orphanages or those who have not seen their parents still have teachers”, mentioned His Holiness and added that a teacher’s mission is not only giving knowledge.

What is more, Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan also assured to the future pedagogues that a teacher’s mission is to psychologically create and develop a human; that is how we are creating our nation and their future.

“I wish you to love your future pupils just as you once wished to be loved yourselves and then you will see that you’ll have very little failure”, mentioned His Holiness and advised to the future pedagogues to act in a way that their pupils remembered them in light and with smiles.

In her turn, the student of the Faculty of Philology Anna Sargsyan expressed acknowledgements to the University Management on behalf of students for the conducted student-centred policy and mentioned that it was a great encouragement on their way of developing knowledge, capacities and skills.

“At the Pedagogical University we acquired firm knowledge, experience and skills, which will serve for the development and prosperity of our homeland. We are happy and proud to be once the students of this University; and we promise to highly maintain the good name of this institution and never forget that the foundation of our dream was set right here. And now, new Armenia is waiting for us”, stated graduate Anna Sargsyan.

The official certificates award ceremony continued with a festive concert. The State Orchestra of Armenian National Instruments with their artistic Director, the RA Honoured Artist, Professor Norayr Davtyan, the ASPU Ensemble of Violinists and the Ensemble of the Chair of Choreographic Pedagogy performed on this occasion.
