It’s already the sixth year that the students of the Pedagogical University with high academic progress have been receiving an exceptional encouragement from the University- a paid holiday in the ASPU educational base in Aghavnadzor.
80 ASPU students including the girls’ football team of the University have been provided the opportunity of having a 5-day holiday in Aghavandzor.
During the winter break, the Rector of the Pedagogical University Rouben Mirzakhanyan, together with the Vice-Rector, visited the students who were enjoying their holidays.
On that occasion, the Rector got acquainted with the conditions of the resort, as well as had a discussion on several issues and problems which were interesting to the students.
Likewise, Rouben Mirzakhanyan referred to the ongoing reforms at the University, especially to the construction of the new buildings and four new laboratories assuring that they would be enriched with modern equipment.
“Modern Universities must also develop research activities; parallel to the learning process the students must also be involved in research activities. This makes the learning process more interesting and effective, as well as gives a chance to notice students who have a future in their research undertakings”, mentioned the Rector.
Furthermore, speaking about today’s demand of the labour market, Rouben Mirzakhanyan urged the students to learn foreign languages by all means, to be able to use modern technologies and be qualified specialists.
“For sure, the Pedagogical University ensures employment for its best students”.
In addition, the Rector discussed the new teaching methods, issues existing in the learning process, highlighted students’ feedback and recommendations thereabout and mentioned the following, “Students and their daily life are the most important factors for the University. You should be most dynamic, actively express yourselves, as these are the best years of your life and the University does everything in its might to make your lives more interesting”.
The students expressed their acknowledgements to the Head of the University for such motivation received after which they performed an enjoyable cultural programme.
The President of the APSU Student Council Nersik Margaryan in his turn emphasized the fact that this year, too, the leisure time was enriched with cultural and sporting events.
“Students tear themselves away from the daily routine, organize exciting leisure which is a strong stimulus to start the year with new energy and enthusiasm”, concluded Nersik Margaryan.
Later on, the second year student of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Chair of Social Pedagogy Angela Gabrielyan assured that all conditions had been created for the absolute recreation of students.
“Such recreation truly motivates for a higher academic progress in future. I would only like to see more multi-profile leisure time activities and opportunities further on”, said Angela Gabrielyan.
