“Robert’s feat for us as historians, and the entire Armenian nation is one of the glorious pages of history of Armenia. The feat he made, proved to us that our young generation is able to strengthen the victory of our grandparents and parents, to add some more to it, and to make it substantial. When there is no dedication, readiness and ability to sacrifice life for the homeland, words about patriotism become empty. Robert Abajyan gave us the opportunity to live a peaceful life and to create”, mentioned the Dean of the Faculty of History and Law Edgar Hovhannisyan at the soiree organized to commemorate the Hero of Artsakh today.
Among those present at the event was the family of the hero who passed away in the four-day war in April, together with the Deacon Volodya Najaryan from the RA MD Military University after Vazgen Sargsyan, Deacon Narek Petrosyan, teaching professorial staff, and students.
Edgar Hovhannisyan highlighted the importance of the patriotic event organized by the initiative of the 3rd year students of the Department of History from the perspective of perpetuating the feat and memory of Robert Abajyan, continuing his work and mission with the help of future pedagogues.
The ASPU lecturer, lieutenant colonel Hakob Gevorgyan presented his report headed “Tracing the Four-Day War” where he referred to the reasons of the four-day war, its consequences, the military spirit of Armenian soldiers, their national ideological mentality, psychological support, recognizing the enemy, his cruelty and inhumane activities.
Likewise, the lieutenant colonel noticed, that at war they were guided not by rationality, but by profound leading instincts, the desire to feel the taste and smell of blood. In addition, he stressed out that during the military activities soldiers should receive psychological support, and in the post –war period psychological rehabilitation should be provided to the participants of war by always keeping their consciousness and sense of danger awake.
“We are protecting our country not allowing a pack lacking everything and moving with instincts to contaminate it. The recent events once again proved that Armenian nation is standing at the back of their soldiers and is supporting them in any situation. They gathered and came up voluntarily from all parts of the world to unite and fight. It is the national psychological advantage that makes Armenian soldiers incomparable with the homeless enemies having no motherland. If you want peace, get ready for war”, added the military pedagogue.
Robert Abajyan’s comrade –in-arms, Deacon Narek Petrosyan considers the Artsakh war as the most terrible out of all wars in the world; a war that was not started by Armenians, but is carried out by them for justice.
The priest that fought together with the heroes on those days assured that nothing could encumber Armenian young people and the Armenian Army.
“Each and every loss is too hard for us, their memory is priceless and eternal both for us and for the next generations who are brought up and leave with those ideas starting from the Vardanants days until now. The only thing that we can do for our deceased people is unified prayers, what all soldiers urge to do”, mentioned Deacon Petrosyan and begged for peace by the Lord’s prayers for the souls of the deceased.
Furthermore, during the soiree dedicated to Robert Abajyan a film called “Life Volley”, dedicated to him, was shown. The ASPU students, jointly with the pupils of the “Vardanants Aspetner” secondary school N106 performed patriotic songs and poems.
“There are no big or small heroes; but when we decided together with students to refer to one of the heroes of the Artsakh war, the students unanimously decided that it was going to be Robert Abajyan”, mentioned the lecturer of the Faculty of History and Law Mariam Yeghyan by the initiative of whom the event had been organized within the scope of the internship.
In his turn, the Head of the ASPU Department of the Armenian History Ashot Piliposyan noticed that it was difficult to utter a word when silence was saying it all.
“Nothing can dispel your loss, this is what the homeland comes and stays with. The length of immortality depends on the courage of a person and his devotion to the motherland. I am happy to see such a generation growing; I am praying tribute to our days’ hero being sure that many Roberts will still be born”.
