The international scientific and practical conference entitled "The Mental Health of a Person: Languages of Psychiatry and Psychology" that started at ASPU on October 19 continued on Friday.
On the second day of the conference, the participants discussed psychological and educational issues associated with mental health of a person, as well as psychotherapy and clinical issues from psychological and psychiatric perspectives.
Levon Sargsyan, Acting Head of the the Chair of Psychology named after Academician Mkrtich Mazmanyan, said they had had effective discussions on both days of the conference and had a unique opportunity to discuss very important issues of the field with reputed and distinguished professionals on the same platform. “They gave fresh impetus to the psychological environment in Armenia for studying new psychological problems and finding solutions to them," Levon Sargsyan said.
He emphasized the importance of the conference and exchange of scientific ideas, especially now that there are threats of war and displacement problems in the world. Mr. Sargsyan added that for many years ASPU has organized scientific conferences covering a wide range of topics related to mental health, psychological and emotional problems of the modern era, which have attracted not only the local but also international psychologists and scientists.
Let us add that during the two-day event, leading specialists in the field of psychology from five countries, including Armenia, referred to the categories of social cognition and social existence in modern social psychology, consequences of military and political changes and contemporary issues and challenges in applied military psychology, as well as a number of educational, psychotherapeutic and clinical topics related to a person's mental health.
