An international roundtable entitled “The Role of EP Intellectuals in Integration Processes” was initiated at the ASPU by the Chair of Sociology and Social Work.
Twelve representatives from various Russian universities, lecturers of ASPU, and leading specialists in psychology and sociology participated in the event.
Ruzanna Petrosyan, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, stressed the importance of the roundtable discussion adding that the experience of the Faculty would be useful for the participants. “Together we should try to find the key to solving the problems in integration and other processes,” she said.
Armen Sahakyan, Doctor of Psychology, Acting Head of the Chair of Sociology and Social Work, also emphasized the importance of the roundtable discussion and wished productive cooperation to the participants. In his report, he focused on the consolidation of intellectual elite as a precondition for intensifying integration processes.
In their reports, the participants also referred to intellectual capital, the process of European integration in the context of Sociology and presented a series of sociological analyses. After the plenary session the meeting continued in two subsections.
