The RA Agency of Intellectual Property granted a Patent to the Academician of the Pedagogical University, Professor on the Chair of Philosophy and Logic after Gevorg Brutyan, Doctor of Philosophy, Chairman of the Armenian Philosophy Academy Robert Jijyan for the invention of Tactile vision device.
The invented device is foreseen for blind or visually impaired people; it has interconnected electronic cameras, a knot that transforms the photo-electronic image into two-dimensional tactile image, as well as a flat and flexible screen of the two-dimensional tactile image.
The screen is prepared in a way that it can be fixed on the relevant flat part of a person’s skin with a fixed clamping knob. The functional capacities of the device are expanded, and the perception of tactile image is expedited.
During her interview to the old.aspu.am Professor Jijyan mentioned the main issues with the device is related to the inertia of a human skin due to which the contact effect remains on the skin for a long time. However, the idea exists, as well as the principle and structure; all we need now is to understand how to reduce the skin inertia and to use it in practice”, added the author of the invention.
