A jubilee concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of ASPU was held earlier this week at Aram Khachaturian House-Museum with the participation of lecturers and students of the Chair of Music Education of the Faculty of Art Education.
Sargis Elbakyan, Head of the Chair of Music Eductaion, says the choice of the concert venue was not accidental; 10 years ago, the Chair celebrated the 90th anniversary of the University in the same hall.
Referring to the history of the establishment of the Faculty, Professor Elbakyan emphasized that during the 60 years of its activity, the structure with its famous founders and pedagogues has had a special significance in the educational and cultural life of the country.
Tsitsilya Brutian, Emma Tsaturyan, Yakov Zargaryan, Eduard Elbakyan, Karlen Topchyan, Robert Baburyan, Loreta Aghasaryan, many other People’s Artists and Honoured Art workers, famous musicians and composers... Sargis Elbakyan says the talented representatives of the younger generation continue the work of the devotees of the Faculty with honor.
The Head of the Chair of Music Education considers one of the peculiarities of the Faculty of Art Education to be its creative activities, in addition to the educational mission. “Today the audience has the opportunity to enjoy the results of cooperation between lecturers and students in performing arts."
"Sixty years in 100 years is a great legacy. We have heard the names of representatives of art and merited pedagogues who have connected the cognitive component of expressing professional needs outlined within the limits of their creative imagination with the Pedagogical University. The jubilee year has proved that the Faculty continues to stand out by organizing high-taste event and where a rich value system of professional emotions, cognitive needs, creative abilities and pedagogical education is amassed, " ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan said in her speech. She added that the people, who have the honor to educate students, provide other sections of society with real art and spirituality.
During the concert, students of the Faculty and lecturers of the Chair of Music Education, many of whom are also laureates of a number of international and republican competitions, impressed the audience with their excellent performance and mastery.
Also, the ensembles of vocalists, canonists and accordionists of the Faculty of Art Education performed the works of renowned musicians, including Komitas, Aram Khachatryan, Romanos Melikyan, Khachatur Avetisyan, Arno Babajanyan, Stepan Lusikyan, Armen Smbatyan, Joseph Haydn and others.
