A concert of vocal and instrumental music entitled "Keys of Life" and dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the creative activity of piano player Lilya Khachatryan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Music Education, Faculty of Art Education, took place at Naregatsi Art Institute (NAI) on April 26.
The event was attended by lecturers of the Chair, the pianist’s colleagues and students of different years, who today work in a number of schools of the country.
Through different interesting facts presented by hostess Siranush Yeghiazaryan the audience ‘discovered’ the piano pedagogue in a new way. “Although her parents had predetermined a different career path for her, Lilya Khachatryan chose a profession that became fatal for her; she chose the profession and mission of an educator and musician, educating different generations," Siranush Yeghiazaryan said.
Lilya Khachatryan has worked in various educational centers. She joined the Pedagogical University in 1983. Her students have won numerous competitions in Armenia and other countries.
The evening turned into a real celebration, with each performance being presented to the audience in a unique way.
During the event, Tatev Movsesyan, an illustrator of the Chair of Music Education and concertmaster Ruben Karaseferyan performed songs based on Lilya Khachatryan's works. ASPU graduate Vachagan Bdoyan, Aida Gevorgyan and Seda Ohanyan, a 2nd and 3rd year students of the University, also performed during the concert.
