“Khachatur Abovyan was at the Pedagogical”

The Pedagogical University continues hosting various events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of its establishment.

Today, the Chair of Teaching Foreign Languages presented an interesting initiative with the involvement of the students from all ten Faculties of the University.
“Khachatur Abovyan was at the Pedagogical”; by “returning” to the homeland in the 21st century, the Great Enlightener got pleasantly surprised by noticing that the mother University training pedagogues for the country is named after him.

Khachatur Abovyan addressed his famous covenant to the students, urging them to firmly preserve their mother tongue and their faith, but to also learn other languages.

The latter, in their turn, made a presentation in English language for the Great Enlightener about the history of formation of their Faculty, the specialisations offered there, its outstanding alumni, as well as international cooperation and exchange programmes, together with a few other facts. “A reader today, a leader tomorrow”; during the event the students once again highlighted the importance of the role of education, which was followed by the demonstration of the students’ hand-made works and musical performances.

Later, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Srbuhi Lulukyan noticed that this event once again reaffirmed the strong inter-faculty connection at the University. “We are training various professionals, indeed, but we all are one family with a common mission.”

What is more, Srbuhi Lulukyan highly evaluated the students’ linguistic skills, urging them not to disregard the importance of knowing foreign languages, as it could open many doors in our days. Following, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology Ashot Galstyan, also attending the event, was quite impressed with the idea of it, and particularly with the students’ language skills. As he noted, the Pedagogical University was already invulnerable; moreover, with their rich knowledge, skills and abilities the students would soon replenish the big team of teachers.

“In fact, the consistent work of the Head of the Chair Anahit Lalabegyan and her outstanding pedagogical qualities serve for the benefit of students and the educative processes of the Faculty”, added the Dean.

At the end of the event, a letter addressed to the Great Enlightener from Rafayel Avagyan, a student, who had recently won the Republican Olympiad, was presented, which once again proved the fact that the younger generation also valued the role and significance of the great pedagogue in the sphere of education.
